1930 Cadillac V-16
Purchased in 1994 after 12 years on display in Las Vegas, this 1930 Cadillac Series 452 V-16 Imperial Sedan, a rolling safe haven for the notorious Al "Scarface" Capone, sold for $309,500 through Bonhams auction.
This beauty was equipped with armor plating in the doors and sides and five-layer laminated glass windshield and windows. Despite their great weight, the door windows, which have round gunports cut in them, roll down into the doors. A police radio could monitor the good guys' activities and might also hint at the opposition's moves. Other defense features included an oil slick and smoke screen system. (Eat your heart out Batman!) Painted a low-key black with matching black painted wire wheels, it has dual side-mounted spare tires with mirrors and a radiator stone guard. A rollup divider window separates the privileged rear compartment with its luxurious dark brown leather upholstery and black leather door panels and headliner from the driver and front seat passenger who repose on black leather seating surfaces.

With it's pioneering V-16, a narrow 45 degree V angle OHV Series 452 displacing 452 cu. in. (7.4 L), the V-16 was the top of the line for Cadillac from it's 1930 launch through 1940.
For people preferring a little less bling, they might consider a less pricy alternative. The 353 Cupe with a V-8 engine.
