Oldsobile Golden Bullet
The gold-colored two-passenger Oldsmobile Golden Rocket debuted at the 1956 General Motors Motorama . It’s body was made entirely of fiberglass boasted a few very futuristic features—there were bullet bumpers, fins, a fastback split-window design, later used on the1963 Corvette Stingray. It was one of the first vehicles with a tilt steering wheel; opening a door, raised a roof panel, the seat came up three inches and swiveled making entry and exit easy; and don’t forget the dotted line whitewall tires. It was powered with a 234 CID, 275 horsepower Rocket V8 engine and weighed 2,500 pounds.
Where is this car? It has been said that the car was located somewhere in New Jersey. However, the rumor remains unconfirmed.
